Dear Friends of Penny,
It is with
extreme sadness that we have to announce that Penny died Monday morning. She
fought a great and valiant battle but was not able to overcome a simple battle of viral gastroenteritis.
Her foster Mom, Annette, is heartbroken and inconsolable. She did everything humanly
possible to help Penny. Please know that even though we didn't win the fight for Penny's
life, she was loved and safe all the way to the end of her short life. We will bury her
ashes in the park and exercise yard that we will build at Animal Services. It is an appropriate
finish to her brave life. Thank you to so many people who made her fight theirs.
Your efforts, donations, and prayers helped Penny and validated the pure goodness of
people everywhere. We can never thank you enough. We will post more as we can.
Now is the time for remembering
how good people can make a difference in the life of a small,
brave, loving dog and how that dog changed the lives of many people.
